Black Australorps

I started with around 10 Black Australorps.  They were our second choice, but Im so glad we ended up with them.  They  are quiet, and gentle, and have been handled by my kids since we got them as babies.  They lay a pretty brown/pink egg med-lg, and they lay very regularly.  I love my hens, we even gave some to another family to start them on chickens.
The rooster is different.  He was big, beautiful and Mean!  we had to sell him.  He would attack me every day when I let them out of the coop-it got to be very stressful for me.  I couldnt leave the kids in the backyard with him, he would attack them and our 100lb dog.  If the situation were different and I was letting them free range outside of my backyard I would probably feel more comfortable about their safety with a big mean roo.
