Our Araucana chicken and her unique green eggs add a lot to our chicken coop. We own about 40 chickens (with a variety of breeds) and our Araucana gets along very well with all of them. She is friendly towards us as well and comes running up when we bring food (but is not too keen on any touching or being picked up.) We got her about 2 years ago at about a week old from a professional breeder in Texas. We bought an Araucana because of their high egg production and she lays an egg about once a day- they are pretty big eggs too. She has area to graze and eat bugs outside of the coop in a fenced in area, and is otherwise fairly low maintenance. We feed the chickens once a day from store bought bags of chicken feed. Overall I would recommend this breed of chicken for anyone because it provides a good amount of eggs and does not take too much work to keep.
