Acquired: Breeder (non-professional, hobby breeder)

This breed is not as showy as some of the others but seems to be very smart and friendly. Mine will follow me around the yard begging for corn but know to hide when a hawk flies over. The are average egg layers and can be used as meet birds although they don't dress out as well as the Cornish breed. Ours are pets for eggs only so they are a bit spoiled. I would say they are a good backyard breed and a pleasure to watch forage.
