Delicious steaks anyone? Personally, I think that you can't get beeter beef than that produced by Black Angus cattle. The meat is full of flavor and has a medium to fine marbling throughout. Black Angus steers have about 12 square inches of ribeye area per steer.
The cons are these cattle eat and eat and eat. The food bill to raise one to two years old is quite high. At less than 1000 pounds dressed, this requires a high sale price on the meat. A sale price you sometimes can't get.
If you raise these, you have to raise enough of them to order a lot of food in bulk and try to buy your feed as cheaply as possible. A feed lot is a good option if you raise a lot of them.
