Ferdinand our Black Anhus Steer

When I was a kid my family had a small family farm and my parents decided one year to raise up a Black Angus Steer for meat. He was so small when we got him they brought him home in the backseat of our VW bug! We kept him in a pasture with an electrified fence which successfully kept him in. My dad used to bring hay bails out into his pasture and I can remember Ferdinand as a full-grown steer with really big horns chasing him out of the pasture and my dad running like a bat out of hell and vaulting the electric fence to avoid getting gored by those horns! I have the feeling my parents didn't do much research before making this decision to get Ferdinand!
