If you have a Jersey cow as a family cow, consider crossing her with an Angus bull. The offspring will provide one of the best products for the freezer. Some people also use female offspring for the family milk cow. She will probably produce a bit less so you aren't overwhelmed by milk as can be the case with a straight dairy breed and the family cow. They are a small to mid-framed cross, ideal for smaller acreages. They can get that Jersey streak of stubborn in them and are not ideal for showing.
