The appearance of this goat breed is reliant on the care of the owner, as is the tolerence for heat and cold. It is important that they are sheared in the spring before warmer weather, and their coats are given a chance to grow before winter.
They are friendly when regulary handled, though sometimes a little force is required. They are extremely sociable and fare best in groups. In the UK there is not much value in the wool, and these goats are mostly kept for showing and breeding.
