Chickens can be a lot of fun, work and lay delicious tasting eggs! Hens tend to be a bit demanding when they become hungry. They will peck your toes and chase you for their food. They also are quite hilarious to watch. They have many actions and my favorite would be actions toward fellow chickens within the coop.

Chickens must have a coop so that they can avoid catching disease from predators or outside environment. Hens need a henhouse of some sort in order to nest and lay eggs. Chickens also require roosts. This can be a ledge or pole or steps for them to sleep on.

The cost for purchasing and maintaining the care of chickens is very minimal. They eat grains and drink a lot of water. The biggest reward to caring for them is the quality taste of freshly cooked eggs.
