To this day I still don't understand why its called the blue T rather than the purple T, as its sheen is definitely a deep purple and is pretty prominent. Anyway, They are pretty average speed growers and excellent eaters, and don't hide all that much so you can see their violet color displayed pretty normally and they make for a good show T. They are pretty active and happier with lots of plants, logs, etc. in their enclosure as they move around a lot and utilize the decor. Though they are easy to keep alive, their speed as well as their high energy and activity level as well as their habit of trying to escape makes me say that this species is definitely for an advanced keeper.
