Giant Green Pinktoe: A shimmering beauty

My Giant Green Pinktoe was the second tarantula I purchased, they are a tree-climbing species so require a fairly tall vivarium in which to climb around in as well as a moderate heat source (heat mat). They are a stunning species to watch as they have a pearlescent green/blue colouration to them, add this with their cute pink toes and they are simply gorgeous.

It's a very docile species and very gentle when taking prey, I even got mine taking prey from tongs without any hassle. She was always on the move around her tank and I very much enjoyed watching her catch the sun glimmering her lovely colours.

Sadly she managed to catch a nasty parasite and I could do nothing to stop it, she was a great spider to keep and I would reccomend this species to any keeper.
