Active arboreal species

Pink Toes are one of the easier tarantulas to keep - but one thing to bear in mind is that they can be quite delicate and prone to something called sudden death syndrome. This is basically just a fancy way of herpetologists saying that sometimes in captivity they die for absolutely no reason even when the conditions are perfect; which isn't the case with most other species.

I really enjoy watching pink toes as they're a fairly active (for a spider) arboreal species that makes large webs and will spend almost all of it's time up high. Make sure you give it a tall tank in order to see the best natural behaviors. They can be very fast, but are a gentle species. I don't personally like to handle any of my tarantulas but I have handled this species before when necessary.

Their toes are cute, and their very fluffy, which I find pretty cute - for a spider!
