I work with a lot of Mexican Red Knee's at work - because they are one of the most popular pet inverts. They are really amazing to look at, very easy to keep, hardy and docile - I handle all of the ones at work and have never encountered an aggressive one. They don't move that much, but are happy to sit out in the open, and will always move for food. The only downside is that they can be a bit of a hair flicker, using their legs to kick off the hairs on the abdomen, which can be irritating to the skin and eyes.
Overall though, a very easy tarantula to keep and a great starter invert.
