The Durango Scorpion is a highly venomous species of scorpion from Durango, Mexico. This scorpion is not suitable as a pet and a bite from this scorpion can be fatal. The sting of the Durango Scorpion can cause severe local and systemic symptoms. Their care is fairly straightforward and they do do well in captivity. As they are a dessert species they should be kept in containers with ample ventilation and their habitat should be suited to desert conditions. I lightly mist a large rock every two or three evenings so that they can go have a drink of water from the the surface of the rock. They feed well on crickets. I would only recommend this species for highly experienced keepers and zoo exhibits.
