Sol was my closest companion. When I came to the barn and he heard my voice, he would call back to me and come running right to me.
They say Thoroughbreds are very feisty, but Sol was a gentle man. Children could ride on his back with a halter and lead and he went wherever they asked him to and was a pleasure at all times.
Sol was my teacher. He taught me to love with all my heart and he taught me to jump poles and do dressage. There was no better feeling in the world than being on the back of that horse.
From time to time, I would ask Sol to run like a race horse through the woods and the wind would be in my hair as I dreamed of being the top jockey in the whole world and winning the Kentucky Derby! Then, realty hit and we just walked back to our barn- to our real lives that are small, but wonderful.
Sol was the best horse ever born in this world.
