I have only been around a few of these horses, but they are some of the best behaved and toughest ones I have seen. They were bred to be a little smaller for easier travelling in the rough mountain terrain but they are very thick. Their conformation is excellent, they have good sturdy feet, and rarely need shoes even in bad ground. They are quiet, which makes them great for kids, and they are quite kind. They try to please, and are good learners.
