A real character

When I was in junior high I had a real witch of an Appaloosa, and in my mother's effort to keep the horse from killing or maiming me, we traded her for a PoA. I affectionately dubbed him Cracker Jack, and although he routinely half-heartedly bucked, was entirely too lazy to be a speed demon, and freaked out any time he saw an ostrich (which was daily) he taught me some of my first lessons about horsemanship. I miss the guy terribly.
