Lulu was one of the most amazing horses I have ever ridden. We found her in Germany. She was 7, and she had had three babies. Often, the Germans will breed a mare a few times before starting her. Anyway, she was very green for a 7 year old, but her heart was incredible. She could leap over any jump, and while in the air, she could lift herself up another 6 inches. She was like a bird.

Many of the Holsteiners are descendant from two stallions, Lord and Landgraf, who are both sired by Ladykiller. This mare was by Landgraf. These horses are hot; they have a motor, and they are incredibly athletic. Their talent is superb, and if you can channel their enthusiasm, they are winners in the show ring. Lulu as special this way. However, she was extremely emotional, and if she was having a bad day, you just had to let her be. It was best to put her back in the stall and try again the following day.

I recommend this breed for intermediate to advanced level riders.
