Treatment Type: Bodywork Therapies
Caregiver: Professionals Only

Cranial Osteopathy was developed by an American osteopath, Dr. William Sutherland in the 1930's. It is a technique of gentle manipulation of the bones of the skull in an attempt to strengthen the "cranial rythmic impulse (CRI)" created by the rise and fall of cerebrospinal fluid.

Cranial Osteopathy believes that the cranial rhythmic impulse affects the connective tissues linking all the bones, muscles and organs of the body. Some practitioners have adapted Cranial Osteopathy for use on pets.
