Alfalfa (Medicago sativa) is an important forage, hay and silage feed. Alfalfa is a perrenial legume which is high in protein (15 - 20%) and calcium, and low in sugar.
Alfalfa can be compressed with heat and steam and formed into pellets and cubes. Alfalfa pellets and Alfalfa cubes are available in different sizes, depending on whether they are horse feed, or are small animal feed.
