Alfalfa (Medicago sativa) is an important forage, hay and silage feed. Alfalfa is a perrenial legume which is high in protein (15 - 20%) and calcium, and low in sugar.
Bromegrass (Bromus inermis L.) is a perrenial, cool-season grass which is used for forage and hay. Bromegrass is low to moderate in protein content (6 - 11%), and has a high fiber content. Bromegrass has a moderate sugar content, and is highly palatable.
