A great addition to freshwater aquariums

I have always owned a plecostomus in my freshwater tanks. They are great at cleaning up all the uneaten food from the other fish at the bottom of the aquarium. They will act as a sort of vacuum and clean the gravel or rocks. They also clean the algae off the side of the glass. It's still important to clean the tank regularly, but these fish are awesome filters. They can get very large, so it's important to figure out what to do with a pleco that has outgrown its current environment. They don't mind other fish and I haven't seen other fish bother them, even semi-aggressive.
