I could honestly say I have had ricordea mushrooms in my tank since the beginning, they are just a must have in any saltwater aquarium. Definitely a beginner coral, this coral is very low maintenance, low priced, and come in a huge variety of colors. The ricordea mushroom, doesn't ask for any expensive high intensity lighting, nor does it ask for much dosing of calcium/alkilinity. Feeding can be kept to just liquid food that is broadcasted to you tank water or sometimes even target fed brine shrimp. These mushrooms will actually grab and consume food. The years that I have owned them I could say they do best with low flow. I place my ricordeas on flat rocks on the sand bed so they can spread. They normally multiply pretty quick once they are comfortable with there environment, I recommend not moving or touching them much if you want them to grow and spread. I would definitely add this coral on the list of beginners coral.
