Red Zebra are very common African Cichlid. I like them because they never seem to completely disappear in an ornament. They like to keep their head out and see whats going on, and its kind of entertaining. They accept almost all foods, and always seem to have an appetite. On the few occasions that they do not is usually because it is a female with eggs in her mouth. For people who are always looking for fish to breed this is an interesting fish to have. It likes to try to breed with other species, and doesn't even seem to prefer its own which is very unusual to me. I've had my Zebra's breed with my Kenyi, Socolofi, Auratus, Bumblebee, Electric Yellow Labidotropheuous, Fuelleborni, Acei, and is very persistant on trying to mate with my Haplochromis Compressiceps, but has never succeeded.
