Here's my story with Pearl Gourami:
I started off with a 29 gallon freshwater aquarium, everything went well with this aquarium until I bought a Pearl gourami (just one, wanted it to be the showstopper among all other smaller fish). Right from the very first day, it started hiding and never came out for food. Within few days it developed an infection and expired. But this infection destroyed most of my other fish too!
Words of Wisdom: Pearl Gourami is an outstanding fish, but this fish needs to be quarantined properly before introducing it into the main show tank. Actually, we should quarantine every type of fish and not just Pearl Gourami.
Now, I have another male Pearl gourami in my 55 gallon planted tank. He looks fantastic and is very healthy (eats well too)
Not aggressive at all to other species!!
