My Big Personality Oscars

Over the years I have realized Oscars are filled with personality. Some may have an anger streak to them while others generally remain calm. With my experience they hate small spaces and don't care much for a decorated pond, they will re arrange everything you might think to put in that aquarium. Most of my Oscars are outdoors; in the most natural element that could be created. This fish adores its natural element and shows obvious signs of happiness in their heightened scale colouration and growth rate.

A few years ago there was one we placed in a pond close to the main entrance to the house. It became this Oscar's habit to follow any shadow or movement along the pond, it was almost behaving like a dog, protecting its territory, because if anyone went too close to the pond it would leap a couple inches out of the water. Quite the entertainment sometimes for visitors to the house.
