Oranda Goldfish & Koi – my delight in the morning!

First thing every morning, my Dog & I would go out to the Koi pond. I’d take the hot pink Styrofoam plate, I altered to only a thin ring and gently toss it upon the water. I’d open the bag of (special) Oranda Goldfish food, not just regular goldfish food & sprinkle some within the ring. My Dog & I, watched as the fish came up thru the ring to eat. The ring kept the food from floating away and the fish enjoyed knowing right where the food was, some fell down deeper in the water, but not much. I also enjoyed buying them live plants from Green thumb; they would eat the bottoms of these plants pretty quickly!

When I bought the Oranda goldfish & Koi, they were both so small, but grew pretty fast! As the goldfish grew, the bright orange on their heads got much larger & the white iridescent fins and tail grew longer. When they were small, they were quick, fast, zippy here & there; but later, they got fatter waddled a little when they swam.

I’m not going to say I cleaned the pond all the time, I had help in this department it’s a large job & very time consuming. You need to make sure the water temperature is just right & it’s clean etc.

Having these fish is very rewarding, but hard work. When their colors of deep orange, black, red & iridescent White shine back at you in the water it’s beautiful!
