Great algae eater!

I purchased a jeweled blenny to help get rid of a hair algae outbreak I was having in one of my aquariums. This fish was recommended to me to cure this problem. After the 4th day of having this fish in my tank I was shocked, the tank was nearly hair algae free. He was an overall easy fish to keep, he just asked for algae. I do not recommend buying this fish for a new or under established aquarium , as there will not be enough algae growing to keep this fish happy and healthy. I kept him in my reef until the hair algae was completely gone then sold him to another hobbyist that was having the same algae issue. I was not planning to keep the fish forever, as I saw it to be quite ugly compared to other saltwater fish. He was colorless and plain, although, his personality made up for it. He was a very jolly and active fish spending his days pecking algae off rocks, and swimming in and out of the rock work. He was also very attached to me and my house hold members. He would perch up on rocks, and stare back at you when you watch him, sometimes coming out of the rocks to greet you. Very peaceful fish towards other fish and corals. Reef safe!
