Platinum Koi

The Platinum Koi is a very beautiful breed. We had a small Koi pond in our back yard. Most of the Koi we owned were patterned, which made the Platinum Koi easy to spot. The Platinum Koi also grew to be the largest Koi in the pond. It was very pretty, especially when it's scales caught sunlight.

It was relatively hardy in health, but we lost it to cold temperatures one winter. We kept the water circulated all the time with a fountain, and tried to maintain the water temperature with heat lamps.

The Koi was also very fond of the plants and rocks we had added to the pond. It would sometimes rest on a rock closer to the surface where we could see it. If you want your Koi to breed, they like to lay their eggs within the rocks and plants. The Koi is also friendly to other fish species, such as the Perch.
