Fishing was always a father and son activity in our family. I loved getting up early on Saturday and sitting all day long next to the lake, chatting with my dad while catching fish.
It is no wonder that I wanted an aquarium full of fish when I was little. My father bought me a small aquarium with a few guppies.
I have to admit that guppies are the perfect fish if you want to see if having an aquarium is right for you or not. They require little maintenance, and you don't have to invest in expensive equipment up front. They are very colorful, quick and playful, which makes them very enjoyable to watch.
The hardest part of keeping fish at home is cleaning the aquarium. Guppies can do with a small one, so keeping their space clean doesn't require a huge commitment.
Feeding them is not an issue either, they are perfectly happy with common fish food that you can buy at any pet store.
