Guppies are probably one of the very easiest tropical freshwater fish to keep on the face of the planet.

They come in a variety of the most magnificent and beautiful colours and patterns, and breed very easily. They're particularly a good breed to entice young children to take up the hobby of fishkeeping.

Remember that they're livebearers. Once you can see a female is pregnant, you should remove her to a solitary tank, as the males will continue harassing her irrespective. Keeping her well fed and adding some java moss to your tank will ensure that she doesn't eat any fry.
