Green Mistake!

The Green Terror is a South American Cichlid, and true to its name, it is an aggressive fish. I actually made the mistake of acquiring this fish on impulse without really doing my home work..mistake! Knowing that he was aggressive based on nomenclature alone, I figured he could go in with my Jack Dempsey in a 55 and hold his own. He didn’t. He got beat up pretty bad and ended up hiding in the vegetation at the bottom of the tank. Being under stress, he soon developed white spot. He seems to be recovering nicely in an isolation tank, and I think I treated the 55 soon enough to avoid rapid spread of the disease, but this just goes to show you that ignorance can be a headache. I know NOW that if I were going to keep these two fish together, I needed about double the tank space I have. I’m still not real sure what to do with him when he comes out of the isolation tank.. anybody want a green terror? Free to good home…
