Glowing Fish Review

I have been the proud owner of twelve Glo-Fish Tetras, two of each color, since December of 2013. These fish come in six remarkable colors, including: Starfire Red; Electric Green; Sunburst Orange; Cosmic Blue; Galactic Purple; and Moonrise Pink. Glo-Fish are very easy to maintain, even for a novice aquarium enthusiast like myself, and they can survive many things that would kill most other fish. They do best at temperatures between 75 and 85F and will eat any standard tropical flake fish food, although Glo-Fish brand food is recommended to enhance their glow. While it is recommended that you have at least a ten gallon aquarium for Glo-Fish, mine survived just fine in a five gallon tank for several months. I currently have a ten gallon tank with twelve of these fish, but I would recommend that you keep no more than six in a ten gallon tank.

My glowing Tetras are very energetic, fun to watch and they generally get along decently with one another. However, they do tend to be a bit territorial and chase each other around the aquarium on occasion. It is relaxing to watch them glowing at night in a dark room, while they are swimming under a blue-light. The fish colors that stand out best are green, orange and pink, while the blue fish seem merely like a shadow floating across the aquarium background scenery.
