An interesting addition for a community tank

Despite what the name suggestions, you glass catfish aren't going to be found swimming on the bottom of your aquarium. Rather, they're mid swimmers that like to shoal, so it's best to keep at least 4 fish together.

They work well in a community tank, are easy to feed, and generally gave my other fish no problems at all.

They provide a nice contrast and something interesting to look at due to their translucent appearance.

Please be responsible when buying these fish - do not buy fish that have bright neon colours in them because they have been artificially dyed (normally in the Asian markets) and the dye is cruel to the fish, leading to unnatural deaths. Dyed fish appeared on the South African market during the late 90's and fortunately, as far as I recall, were banned.
