Gorgeous fish!

Out of the three cichlid species I've owned, this has been my favorite. The color of these fish is absolutely stunning. Some people have claimed that they can be territorial and aggressive towards other fish, but I personally never had any issues. All the cichlids I've owned have been relatively docile.
Cichlids are hardy fish, so they aren't all that hard to provide a habitat for. A large tank is necessary because cichlids grow larger than other fish and need their space. A thin layer of large pebbles along the bottom will make the environment more suitable.

With a little research and a lot of patience, keeping a cichlid tank is easy. The biggest problem is finding species that are compatible and won't rip each other apart.
