The diamond goby is a great addition to any salt tank

The diamond goby is a great saltwater fish. We actually have always thought of it as a sand sifting goby, because that is what makes it really interesting - it will take the sand in its mouth, eat off whatever it finds interesting, and spit the sand out. It does this all day long, and so while it's going around it is helping you keep the salt tank clean. This helps the micro-ecosystem of the tank stay optimal, which is always a plus, and I never get tired of watching diamond gobies doing their work.

We do not currently have a salt tank, but this would absolutely be one of the first fish I'd get when we do put one up again. They are not the flashiest of saltwater fishes, but they get along well in a community tank, don't attack other fish or corals, and are just nice to have.
