My congo tetras

The Congo tetra is one of the most colorful tetras. It has a beautiful fin structure and is one of the larger tetras. They prefer to be in schools of 5 or more and will accept most flake and frozen foods. They need a minimum of 30 gallon aquarium for a school of 5. They need soft acidic water and really do well in peat filtered water and low light. They scatter there eggs and the eggs need acidic water to hatch. They can be very shy so other smaller tetras and some cory cats are good tank mates. I keep my Congo tetras in a 75 gallon low light planted aquarium.
