Aggressive but worth it

This particular species of cichlid is highly aggressive and it most definitely will attack other fish if there's enough room in the tank for it to claim territory. It would probably go after smaller fish if it had enough space. I took a lot of precaution to make sure that there were enough fish in the tank, and I haven't had any problems. Fights are certainly avoidable, so don't let that deter you. Like all African cichlids, this species is hardy and adaptable and will live quite a while if put in an adequate habitat. Another plus is that it's absolutely gorgeous to look at. If you're willing to play with your fish:gallon ratio and watch them closely to avoid any negative confrontation, these are so worth it. They bring life to any room and make wonderful pets.
