This is a relatively easy starfish to maintain provided you have excellent water quality free from ammonia and nitrates. It feeds on algae thereby helping keep your tank clean. It must not be exposed to air and the drip acclimation method should be used when introducing it to your tank. I had it in a 125 gallon community tank with slow and fast moving fish like cardinals, butterfly's, angel's etc. Slight spikes to ammonia causes this sea star to disintegrate from the outside in and the arms start to detach.
