I had 2 specimens. This fish is very resistant to diseases, type of water, alkaline or acidic, soft or hard, doesn't seem to affect them too much. They are extremely territorial and aggressive. Its coexistence with other species is quite tolerable, as long as the tank is large enough. The ideal water temperature is 27º C. The maximum length they might achieve on a giant tank is 30 to 40 cm and they might weight more than 4 kg. The are hybrids, all females lay eggs, but the survival rate is low, the average being one out of a hundred specimens that can succeed.
