Beautiful Goldfish but kind of a commitment

After begging my mother to let me get another pet (we already had 2 cats) she agreed to let me get goldfish. I got a very large used tank for free and scrubbed it down. My twin sister and I pick out Black moor goldfish at the local PetsMart and brought them home. One thing to note with any type of goldfish, it is very important to make sure the water from the bag they come in is the same tempurature and PH as the water you are putting them into. If not they can get very sick or die. Remember this for each time you clean their tank which should be often. To know how often, please do research! These fish are beautiful, so fun to watch, and are not to picky with their grub. With a bit of investment into their tank and some hearty research on their environment needs, I had a solid year with my little buddies. Tragically, I did not know that ants are poisonous if ingested. We had an ant infestation where some of the ants crawled into the tank. The fish thought the specs floating at the top were food and ate them immediately. I then had to watch their little bellies grow and finally force them upside down. The moral of the story is, if you want some beautiful and relatively easy fish, these are right for you. Please just make sure to clean carefully and do your research!
