I named my fish Anakin, and he was a Christmas present from my boyfriend, who got him at the local small-business fish store. In the beginning, Anakin was very fun to observe because of his colors and liveliness. He liked to either dash around the tank or stare at me. He ate most of his flakes and even interacted with the little plant in his tank.

However, it all went downhill about a year into my ownership of Anakin when he stopped eating as much, spent more time hiding the dark, and eventually started losing his color. We took him back to the store, and the owner told us he'd developed a tumor from inbreeding and would die within the week. He is buried in my backyard. Poor guy only lived two years.
