Betta fish or 'fighter fish' have been some of my favorite pets! They have to be alone in a fish bowl which seems depressing but it's really because they fight with other fish including their own kind. Apart from that they are a beautiful feature and provide a calm and intriguing feature to a home.
Super easy to take care of. You can use tap water to put them in but have to have special drops to remove the chlorine from the water and make it so they can survive. Other than that you can choose cute accessories for their bowls from your pet store like colorful rocks, a mini castle and a plant.
Cleaning is important. You have to clean their bowls at least once a week and condition their water and leave it in the room for a time to ensure the temperature of the new water matches the old or the room they are in.
Feeding them is fun and you can get their food online or from a pet store. We also had little treats for them like little fried worms, also inexpensive from the pet store.
