Beautiful fish

These fish come in a large variety of colors. They can live in very small tanks and are beautiful to watch swim. I almost always have one in a 3 gallon tank in my office. These are not schooling fish and will fight each other (regardless of gender). They need to be kept as a solitary fish. The females don't have the beautiful tails and colors that the males have. So male Betta are the more popular to have as pets.

Even though you see them in small containers in the pet store, you should keep your Betta in at least a gallon of water.
