The description is in the title. These fish are incredibly easy to care for, beautiful to watch as they gracefully occupy their tank, and so incredibly gorgeous.
I found that Betta fish are definitely pretty low maintenance- a daily feeding and weekly tank cleaning is all they really need. The only thing I would recommend is, contrary to popular belief, getting a medium to large sized tank for your Betta. They actually need more space than the tiny fish bowls they are showcased in.
Also, you can never keep more than one Betta in a tank at a time, or one will fight the other to it's death. I suppose that's why they are often called "fighting fish".
In my case though, this was completely fine seeing as I did not want a huge tank full of fish, but rather just one to swim around and look pretty- and man was it ever pretty.
I have had Betta fish in vibrant shades of red, blue, and purple, and all were equally beautiful. My fish lived for about a year and never had any health problems during its life.
Watching my gorgeous fish swim came with a lot of calming benefits and was nice to watch after a long day. I think that both children and adults would be fascinated by these fish and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a low maintenance pet.
