The one thing you should know about bala sharks is that they need a larger aquarium to really thrive as they grow up to about 15 - 20cm's. They are very active, always darting around the tank, and enjoy living with others of their kind. I'd advise that you get at least 2 or 3.

They do well in community tanks and can add a striking colour difference in a planted aquarium with their silver scales against luscious green underwater vegetation.

As with most fish, they'd do well with some live food thrown into their diet, but they'll be perfectly happy with a good quality flake food.
