Great fish for beginners in African Cichlids. Males and females both have nice coloring and easy to sex after they mature. Likes a driftwood/rocks/caves. Great eater and easy breeder. Females keep the eggs and young fry in mouth, and mostly will not eat until they can spit them out. Needs a good sized aquarium. 40 or 50 gallons minimum. Make sure you have a good male to female ratio. (1 male per 5 or more females.)
