I love my betta and how they are so very pretty and aggressive. But Koi are just as pretty, but the exact opposite of aggressive, being lazy and placid, except at feeding time. They are relaxed and beautiful to watch, being twenty-four hour fish vision for cats. Koi will keep them busy, thoughkeeping the cats out of the tank is a challenge. This usually went pretty well, except when one tried to swim in it and failed horribly, water went everywhere, but watching that was a sight to see.

Clean up was easy, we had a 55 gallon tank and would simply take a small bucket and some of the old water out, put the fish in it, keeping the filter with them. We would clean that out and put fresh water in the tank and then back in the fish went! I loved watching them swim in the tank while the cats tried to see if they could find a way to get the biggest one out of the tank. I also enjoyed watching how the other fish would move out of the way, the bigger the Koi got the faster they moved! It was truly a joy to watch them grow, which they would keep at until they couldn't get any bigger without making life in the container uncomfortable.
