The arc eye hawkfish is a very interesting species. They spend quite a bit of time "perching" on various items of decor and watch what is going on. they seem equally interested in what happens outside of the aquarium as happens inside. They typically reach around 5 inches in length and can be pretty aggressive to new tank mates. They are absolutely not safe with ornamental shrimp and smaller inverts and will happily eat them if the opportunity presents itself. They can be irritating to some corals with their perching behavior but are generally considered reef safe with caution.
