Many lizards, such as the (well-named!) Rainbow Agama, sport brilliant colors, while males of other species put on elaborate breeding displays. Sometimes, their hand-waving and head-bobbing are even directed at owners…although whether they see us as potential mates or rivals is hard to say! You can plan to keep a single, hardy lizard or delve into the care of the many that still frustrate captive breeders – either way, a lifetime of wonder is open to folks interested in these spectacular creatures.
