It's no surprise that these arboreal beauties are thin and amazingly “vine-like” in appearance – but even so the effect is startling! Both American and Asian Vine Snakes species are fascinating sight-hunters that need large, well-planted cages and, often, a diet of lizards, chicks, or treefrogs. Rear-fanged and high-strung, the bites of most seem to cause mild reactions.

As individual sensitivities and other factors can affect bite severity, a doctor should be consulted before one acquires a Rear-Fanged Snake.
